Postdoctoral Scholar, Renewable Energy and Pollinator Conservation
The Grodsky Lab is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar to organize and conduct research on insects in solar facilities. The individual selected for the position will primarily support research efforts on a project funded by Department of Energy aimed at understanding pollinator-solar energy interactions and efficacy of eDNA as a monitoring tool for pollinators in solar facilities. The postdoc will help coordinate research efforts, including field sampling of pollinators in New York State, among a national team of scientists, organize project timelines and reporting, and play a major role in the analysis, synthesis, and dissemination of research findings for this national pollinator-solar energy assessment. The postdoc will help build a stronger understanding of the interface between insect conservation and renewable energy development in coordination with the PI. The selected postdoc ultimately will be in-person, based in or around Ithaca, and will be expected to interact with graduate students and staff in the lab at Cornell University (Ithaca, New York). This is a three-year postdoc position, pending successful annual performance. PhD in entomology, ecology, or related field and valid driver’s license required. Starting at $61,000/yr plus an excellent benefits package.
